Smoosh
Type: Analysis
Location: N/A

The two spaces that served as a basis for my smoosh were a bathroom (a space to refresh) and a reading nook (a place to relax). My initial investigation of these spaces revealed circulation and usage patterns, but upon deeper digging I was able to distill it down to the essential elements of each space: fire and water. These two elements combined create a third element, which is steam. The purpose of my process was to investigate what steam is architecturally: transparency, translucency, exploration, thick, glimpses, etc; and I exhibited what these experiences could be like through digital collaging with sketch overlays that show case studies such as the effects of light, layering of elements, and literal interpretations.
